Tip of the hat to Brute Labs—you might remember their efforts to bring clean water to rural Ghana—for launching the Run! program, which promotes childhood health and fitness within the Bay Area community and beyond by providing children with the opportunity to create and exceed fitness goals. It recently received an $11,000 grant from Sappi's "Ideas that Matter" initiative.
The project aims to reinvigorate physical education curricula by teaching students how to set personal fitness goals and about the importance of overall health while making it fun and exciting. With individual and group tracking tools, the project highlights self-improvement and drives students to work harder.
UPDATE: An earlier version of this post mistakenly confused this program with the Run@RedRock program.
