Obama has really been pushing the transition to "electronic medical records," but do they actually make doctors more efficient? Judge for yourself: here's video of one doctor who's already switched over, from the Wall Street Journal. (Warning: Only if you're intersted; video about as fun as an actual doctors' visit.)[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RtYHbmUiVkThis doctors' laptop doesn't seem to speed things up that much in this instance. But even if the average visit to the doctor isn't faster, if electronic health records cut down on unnecessary visits, that could result in lots of money saved. Is upgrading to electronic records worth $189 billion in stimulus cash?
