Mitt Romney
The gist: Romney is waiting to roll out his Iowa strategy, but he made waves a couple of weeks ago with his most recent ad. It layers images of economic despair under soundbites of Obama promising (and failing) to pull us out of the hole. The most damning quote of all? "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose."
The theory: People are pissed about the economic downturn, and they want to hear it's all Obama's fault. Who cares if Obama was actually quoting John McCain when he said talking about the economy was a bad idea? Campaign ads are just propaganda, right?
The money shot: Mitt Romney's famous coif blowing in the breeze, GIF-style, in the final still.
The verdict: Epic credibility fail.
