One Block Off the Grid Gets Huge Investment

We've already told you about One Block Off the Grid's efforts to encourage communities to install solar panels, and now Treehugger reports that the company has attracted yet another fan. A fan with money to invest-$5 million to be exact:

The money is coming from New Enterprise Associates a global venture capital firm with some $11 billion in committed capital. The funding will be used to help 1BOG expand nationwide.

One Block Off the Grid currently operates in 13 areas across the company, so the additional capital should help solar panels reach an even wider range of states.Photo (cc) by Flickr user rightee
