Some folks would have you believe that self-driving cars are the way of the near future, and that once they work out a few kinks, they’ll be readily available for consumers. Well, this car isn’t self-driving, but it is supposedly self-parking, and it has one gigantic kink: instead of parking, it runs people over. YouTube commenters have speculated that the testers here are testing pedestrian-detection in a car that doesn’t have pedestrian-detection. Are these a bunch of idiots begging to be run over? Did the car, overcome with rage and malcontent at being used as the scientists’ puppet make a conscious decision to run them over, signalling the inevitable rise of the machines? What do you think?
