Baltimore resident Julie Baker has big plans for her colorful front yard.

While people have spent the past decade fighting about gay rights and gay marriage, the debate moved into heated new territory earlier this week when one woman decided to finally put a stop to gay … gardens. A couple of days ago, Baltimore resident Julie Baker received an angry note from a neighbor stating her garden had become “relentlessly gay” and it was time for her to put a stop to it. Instead of cutting back her operation, Baker decided she’d fight back by making her garden bigger, badder, and way—way—gayer.
It’s unclear what “relentlessly gay” means, or how it’s even possible for a garden to be gay, but Baker’s neighbor believes otherwise. In a note she sent to Baker later shared with The Baltimore Sun, she wrote:
“Your yard is becoming Relentlessly Gay! Myself and Others in the neighborhood ask that you Tone it Down. This is a Christian area and there are Children. Keep it up and I will be forced to call the police on You! Your kind need to have Respect for GOD.”

According to The Baltimore Sun, Baker received the complaint after she decorated the lawn with outrageously hateful propaganda—a.k.a. rainbow lights, spelling out the words “love” and “family.” Since the event, Baker has turned to GoFundMe and raised $39,000 to make her garden even more proud. She writes: “If we go high enough, I will see if I can get a Rainbow Roof! … My invisible relentlessly gay rainbow dragon should live up there in style!”
This is relentlessly great.
