Help Us Realize ‘Generation Health’

Combining the power of entrepreneurship with practical know-how, and community insights with globally-sourced ingenuity, all to accelerate the trajectory of health for humanity.

By Lauren Moore
Vice President, Global Community Impact
Johnson & Johnson

The generation born between 2011 and 2025, totaling 2 billion people globally, will have many names - in fact it already does, from Gen Alpha to Gen Tech. At Johnson & Johnson, our goal is to make this Generation Healthor “GenH”a generation of both beneficiaries and co-creators of improved access to care, lower mortality, and healthier lives. GenH is more than a catchphrase or hashtagit’s a call to action that links local ideas with industry expertise for global impact.

So how are we planning to do this? We believe that people at the heart of carenurses, community health workers, patients, parents, caregiversand particularly women, who currently make 80 percent of the health decisions in the world, represent the future of GenH. It is those who are the living proof of innovationproviding care with barely any resources or connecting a community to vital health informationthey must lead the transformation required to see GenH realized. And at Johnson & Johnson, we are resolved to apply our ingenuity, entrepreneurship, and expertise to accelerate the services and technologies needed by those on the front lines to champion healthy families, communities, environments, and nations.

As one example of our commitment, Johnson & Johnson is launching the GenH Challenge, a social venture competition to generate locally tailored and globally relevant solutions by and for the people at the heart of care. This is not a challenge to further document a problem; this a challenge for the problem solvers, the everyday heroes in the home, in the lab, in the classroom, and in the clinic, battling humanity’s most significant health challenges. We combine the power of entrepreneurship with practical know-how, and community insights with globally-sourced ingenuity, all to accelerate the trajectory of health for humanity.

And we need you.

The GenH Challenge will award $1 million in cash and Johnson & Johnson expertise to pilot big bets and everyday ideas brought to us by passionate changemakers, including you and those in your networks. So, whether you’re most concerned about alarming increases in rates of chronic diseases in both developed and developing countries, digitizing healthcare, or the many other areas ripe for innovation, we need you to get involved. Register today and share this email with a friend or family member on the front lines of care. GenH starts today, from New York to New Delhi, and you could be the one to unlock the next great idea to ensure GenH—are you in?
