The hip-hop recording artist is living every rapper’s dream.
It’s every young rapper’s dream to one day have their name emblazoned on the menu board of a chain salad restuarant. I guess you could say Kendrick Lamar’s made it: he’s teaming up with West Coast health company Sweetgreen for a new salad menu item, called “Beets Don’t Kill My Vibe,” in what some may say is a natural next step for the hip-hop recording artist. Lamar is also headlining Sweetgreen’s Sweetlife Music Festival, which will go down in Maryland at the end of next month (other performers include Charli XCX and Billy Idol, neither of whom are getting a salad named after their musical oeurve).
You can grab the dish at Sweetgreen locations staring at the beginning of May. It sounds like a pretty hearty meal—the ingredients include organic wild rice, shredded kale, roasted beets, red onions, goat cheese, roasted chicken, honey-glazed pecans, and balsamic vinaigrette. Sweetgreen is also selling “Beets Don’t Kale My Vibe” t-shirts.
