GOOD has partnered with Walden University for the “Change Your World” series to showcase how higher education can positively impact the future of their students, families and communities.
In honor of her late father, Raquel Battle felt compelled to found a hospice center in Belize to help ensure that critically ill patients receive support and comfort at the end of life. She credits Walden University—where she earned her Ph.D. in Health Services—with helping turn her dream into a reality by providing her with the education and leadership skills she needed to promote positive social change in her own community.
Watch the video to see how Battle has become a staunch advocate for end-of-life care and early cancer detection. Her passion has inspired people around her and has shown how individual action can create greater positive change.
