Now in its third year, the Designers Accord-the so-called "Kyoto Treaty of Design"-continues to recruit members under the promise of positive social impact through smarter work. Those who elect to adopt the accord (170,000 and counting) and commit to its code of conduct ("Do no harm; communicate and collaborate; keep learning, keep teaching; instigate meaningful change; make theory action") are doing more than just making better products in a more sustainable way; they're fomenting a revolution in design thinking that promises to fundamentally alter how we consume, create, and share.
