Grüner See, otherwise known as Green Lake, is an iconic spot for divers all around the world. Located in the small Austrian village of Tragöß, the lake got its name because of its emerald green water originating from mountain-snow runoff.
In the springtime, temperatures rise and snow melts, causing the lake to reach a depth of 39 feet and submerging the fertile basin in emerald green waters.
Check out this awesome video from a diver:
Because of damage from tourists, the lake will be closed starting in January 2016—so check it out while you can!
