Don’t ask me, but I’m pretty sure having a baby is hard work and that it takes a real toll on a woman’s mind/body/spirit. So, it’s a little messed up that some women must plan vacation days and unpaid sick days in order to take time off after giving birth. It’s also messed up, though not surprising, that the very same companies who put women in the position of potentially losing their jobs in order to care for themselves and their baby run promotions around Mother’s Day proclaiming their love for mothers everywhere.
