In a time when people are migrating outside the city and retaining employment is indispensible, many full-time United States workers are traveling more hours and longer distances to make it to their nine-to-fives. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, nearly 600,000 Americans are classified as "mega commuters" — commuting, by any means of transportation, at least an hour-and-a-half and at least 50 miles to work. Who are these people making up the flow of traffic, and how do they compare to regular commuters?
